Geoscience Australia welcomes the release of Budget 2017-18 by the Treasurer, which includes $15.3 million in new funding to establish the Digital Earth Australia over the next two years.
This investment by the Australian Government through the Department of Finance's Public Service Modernisation Fund will enable Geoscience Australia to transform the international award winning pilot project, the Australian Geoscience Data Cube, into Digital Earth Australia.

The Australian Geoscience Data Cube (Data Cube) is a new approach for organising and analysing the vast quantities of satellite imagery and other Earth observations, making it quicker and easier to provide information on issues that can affect all Australians.

Products and Time Series
This application contains Digital Earth Australia products and a time series plot function that returns pixel values over a selected location and time period.
Water Observations from Space
Water Observations from Space (WOfS) is a web service displaying historical surface water observations derived from satellite imagery for all of Australia.
Australian Geoscience Data Cube Intertidal Extent
The Intertidal Extent Model (ITEM v1.0) product uses satellite imagery to model the continental extent and elevation profile of the intertidal zone.
The Data Cube is developed and maintained by a partnership between Geoscience Australia, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), and National Computational Infrastructure (NCI).
The Data Cube is made possible by the involvement and funding by a number of other organisations, in addition to the partnership. For instance, the infrastructure the Data Cube is built on was funded by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS).
It builds on earlier work by Geoscience Australia and others, drawing on additional satellite imagery and other Earth observations to expand the range of integrated data analysis capabilities available.More Info
